Coming up at Almeida Theatre - House of Games (from 9 Sep) & Master Builder with Stephen Dillane (from 12 Nov)

Two new productions announced for The Almeida Theatre, an off West End venue in Islington, north London.

HOUSE OF GAMES, Richard Bean's stage version of David Mamet's film, opens 16 Sep 2010, following previews from 9 Sep - running to 6 Nov 2010. Directed by Lindsay Posner, designed by Peter McKintosh, lighting by Paul Pyant. Harvard-educated psychoanalyst Margaret Ford is celebrated for her bestselling book 'Driven! Compulsion and Obsession in Every Day Life'. Helping one of her patients settle his gambling debts, she compromises her professional reputation and is drawn into the seedy underworld of the House of Games poker club. Seduced by charismatic hustler Mike, Margaret convinces herself that she can make an academic study of the con-artist. Before she realises it, Margaret is entangled in a fast-paced thriller.

THE MASTER BUILDER, by Henrik Ibsen, translation by Kenneth McLeish, opens 18 Nov 2010, following previews from 12 Nov - running to 8 Jan 2011. Directed by Travis Preston, designed by Vicki Mortimer, lighting by Paul Pyant. starring Stephen Dillane Master Builder Halvard Solness has reached the pinnacle of his career. But at a cost; his family life is in ruins and he lives in fear that the next generation will rise up and brush him aside. When Hilde Wangel, a bewitching young woman, arrives to collect a decade-old debt, she breathes new life into his professional pride. As Solness completes his architectural masterpiece, will Hilde be the Master Builder's ultimate downfall?

Public booking opens 3 June 2010 for both productions.
