Lauren Brown and Chloe Courtney will present an all female production of Cyrano de Bergerac adapted by Glyn Maxwell from the play by Edmond Rostand at the Southwark Playhouse from 18 February 2016 to 19 March 2016, with an official opening on 22 February 2016.

Directed by Russell Bolam, the production features movement by Marcello Magni, designs by Anthony Lamble, lighting by Richard Godin and sound and composition by Harry Blake.

The cast will feature Kathryn Hunter (Cyrano), Sabrina Bartlett (Roxane), Ellie Kendrick (Christian), Holly Burn, Tina Chiang, Penelope Dimond, Tamzin Griffin and Kiran Sonia Sawar.

"Swordsman, Philosopher, Poet - Cyrano de Bergerac is all these things, but none of them makes him happy. What he longs for is the love of the beautiful Roxane. But his problem is as plain as the nose on his face. Surely he is too ugly to be loved?"

Glyn Maxwell's adaptation of Rostand's classic tale was first seen at Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre in 2013 and later broadcast on BBC Radio 4. This production will mark the adaptation's London première.

Tickets for the production are now on sale.
