Elling transfers to Trafalgar Studios from 6 July 2007

The Bush Theatre production of Elling, which ended a sell out run at the Bush on 2 June, is now confirmed to transfer to the Trafalgar Studio One, opening 10 July 2007, following previews from 6 July - booking to 6 Oct 2007.

Tickets are on sale now!

The play transfers with the original cast: John Simm (best known from TV's Life On Mars & State of Play), Adrian Bower, Jonathan Cecil, Keir Charles, Ingrid Lacey.

It is directed by Paul Miller, in a new version by Simon Bent, based on the novel by Ingvar Ambjornsen, in original stage adaptation by Axel Hellstenius in collaboration with Petter Ness.

Mummy's boy Elling (Simm) and his roommate, the uncouth reluctant virgin Kjell Bjarne (Bower) are the Odd Couple of Oslo: a pair of confused souls taking their first steps in the outside world after years of an isolated and institutional life. Given a flat in the city by social services, their mission is to re-assimilate themselves into society - it's either that or a return to the asylum. All they have to do is convince their social worker that they really are 'normal', even if it does feel safer sleeping in a wardrobe...
