Emma Corrin, Arty Froushan, Harriet Walter to star in 'Suddenly Last Summer' at the National Theatre

Suddenly Last Summer follows Violet Venable, who is determined to silence her niece Catharine in order to protect the reputation of her late son Sebastian.

Casting has been revealed for a new production of Tennessee Williams’s Suddenly Last Summer, which opens in the National's Olivier Theatre on 19 February, running through 24 April 2027.

Emma Corrin (The Crown) stars as Catharine Holly, with Arty Froushan (Daredevil: Born Again) as Doctor Cukrowicz and Harriet Walter (The House of Bernarda Alba) as Violet Venable. Michael Grandage directs, returning to the venue for the first time since Danton's Death in 2010.

Further casting includes Mofé Akàndé (The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives) as Sister Felicity, Emma Beattie (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) as Miss Foxhill, Iwan Davies (The Corn is Green) as George Holly and Finty Williams (The Ocean at the End of the Lane) as Mrs Holly.

The artistic team also includes set and costume designer Christopher Oram, lighting designer Howard Hudson, music and sound Adam Cork, video designer Andrzej Goulding, dialect coach Penny Dyer and voice coach Shereen Ibrahim.
