Eurobeat, is to close 2 weeks early on 1 Nov 2008. (originally booking to 15 Nov 2008)
The show opened at the Novello Theatre 9 Sep 2008, following previews from 4 Sep to superb notices from the popular press:THE INDEPENDENT says, "Supremely silly and loopily enjoyable." THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "The most exuberantly enjoyable musical to have opened in the West End since Hairspray." THE TIMES says, "well-honed, sharp-eyed and slickly performed...This show is entirely pointless, but its OTT energy and shameless silliness are oddly seductive. Forget high culture; this is high camp, and in its own unpretentious way it’s a winner."
With original songs written by Craig Christie & Andrew Patterson, Eurobeat - Almost Eurovision, is an interactive musical celebrating everything Eurovision, with the audience voting for their favourite song via text messaging (Voting costs the same as a regular text message).
Directed by Glynn Nicholas, choreography by Andre Hallsworth & Natalie Marsland; lighting by Trudy Dalgleish; set design & costumes by Richard Jeziorny.
