Extended booking period and open auditions announced for Everybody’s Talking About Jamie

Everybody's Talking About Jamie will play at the Apollo Theatre for an extended booking period to August 2020, it has been announced.

After a world premiere at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield and a subsequent West End transfer, the musical received its London debut at the Apollo Theatre in November 2017, where it has played a continuous run since.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie will now play for an extended booking period through to 29th August 2020.

Based on a BBC documentary, the musical follows Jamie New, a 16-year-old teenager from Sheffield who overcomes adversity to wear a dress to his high school prom. Everybody's Talking About Jamie features an original soundtrack by Dan Gillespie Sells.

The current cast of Everybody's Talking About Jamie stars Layton Williams as Jamie New and Rita Simons as Miss Hedge. Melissa Jacques will take over the role of Margaret New and Phil Nichol will reprise his performance as Hugo/Loco Chanelle from 30th September.

Producers have also announced that they will be holding open auditions for the role of Jamie New in the West End from January 2020, with auditions in Sheffield and London next month.  

Everybody's Talking About Jamie is at the Apollo Theatre with an extended booking period to 29th August 2020.
