Faye Tozer to play Miss Hedge in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie

Steps singer and Strictly Come Dancing runner-up Faye Tozer is set to join the West End cast of Everybody's Talking About Jamie in the West End at the Apollo Theatre, it has been announced.

Tozer has been a member of the pop group since 1997, and had hits with songs such as "Tragedy", "5, 6, 7, 8", "Scared of the Dark", and "Last Thing on My Mind". Last year, she starred in the 16th series of Strictly Come Dancing, reaching the final with her partner Giovanni Pernice.

She will join the West End cast of Everybody's Talking About Jamie from 6th May to play the role of Miss Hedge.

On stage, Tozer has previously starred in productions of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tell Me On A Sunday, the West End production of The Tailor-Made Man at the Arts Theatre, and a touring production of the musical Rhinestone Mondays with fellow Steps member Ian "H" Watkins.

Tozer will join Layton Williams who recently took over the lead role of Jamie, a boy who decides he wants to wear a dress to his high school prom, from the role's originator John McCrea.

It was recently announced that the show had extended its booking period into January 2020.

Written by Tom MacRae and songwriter Dan Gillespie Sells, the musical, which is set in Sheffield, transferred from Sheffield Crucible to the Apollo Theatre in November 2017 after producer Nica Burns caught the final matinee of the original run.

The current cast of Everybody's Talking About Jamie also includes Shane Richie, Hayley Tamaddon, Alex Anstey and Luke Baker.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie is booking at the Apollo Theatre until 25th January 2019.
