The Shakespeare's Globe Theatre on London's South Bank has announced full casting for its upcoming production of The Merchant of Venice, which runs from 23 April to 7 June 2015, with an official opening on 30 April 2015.

Joining the previously announced Jonathan Pryce in the role of 'Shylock' will be Daniel Lapaine (Bassanio), Rachel Pickup (Portia), Dominic Mafham (Antonio), Phoebe Pryce (Jessica), Stefan Adegbola, Michael Bertenshaw, Philip Cox, Scott Karim, Ben Lamb, Christopher Logan, Brian Martin, Dorothea Myer-Bennett, Regé-Jean Page and David Sturzaker.

The production will be directed by Jonathan Munby who returns to The Globe after directing 'Antony & Cleopatra' starring Eve Best last Summer.

Daniel Lapaine most recently appeared in 'Other Desert Cities' at the Old Vic. His other theatre credits include 'Hedda Gabler' at the Old Vic, 'The Winter's Tale' at Sheffield Crucible, and 'The Dance of Death' at Donmar at the Trafalgar Studios.

Rachel Pickup's stage credits include 'An Ideal Husband' at the Shakespeare Theater Company and 'Dancing in Lughnasa' at the Irish Repertory Theater. In 2010 she was nominated for a Critics' Circle Award for Best Actress for her performance in 'Miss Julie' at the Rose Theatre Kingston.

Dominic Mafham most recently appeared on stage in David Grindley's revival of 'Journey's End' in the West End. His other stage credits include 'Edward II' and Danny Boyle's 'The Pretenders' at the RSC.

The Summer 2015 season, which is constructed around the theme 'Justice and Mercy', probes the strengths and weaknesses of judicial law and the various tugs-of-war between family, state, religion, love, sex and duty that have defined human morality for centuries.
