Full cast announced for The Misanthrope at Comedy

The full cast has been announced for Martin Crimp's version of Moliere's The Misanthrope, which opens at the Comedy Theatre 17 Dec 2009, following previews from 7 Dec 2009, booking to 13 Mar 2010

Joining previously announced Damian Lewis (Alceste), Keira Knightley (Jennifer), Tara Fitzgerald (Marcia), Dominic Rowan (John), are Nicholas Le Prevost (Alexander), Kelly Price (Ellen), Tim McMullan (Covington), and Chuk Iwuji (Julian)

Directed by Thea Sharrock, designed by Hildegard Bechtler, lighting by Peter Mumford, costumes by Amy Roberts, sound by Ian Dickinson for Autograph. Produced by Ambassador Theatre Group, Sweet Pea Productions and Tulchin/Bartner Productions.

Transported from 17th century Paris to modern-day London, Alceste is a famous British playwright disillusioned and angry with the hypocrisy, shallowness and vanity of the contemporary world. Vowing to reject society, Alceste's plans are derailed when he falls madly in love with Jennifer. An ambitious American film star and darling of the social scene, she may prove to be his biggest challenge yet.
