Jamie Lloyd Productions have today announced the full cast for the second show in their Trafalgar Transformed second season at the Trafalgar Studios, East is East, which will run at the venue from 4 October to 3 January 2015, with an official opening on 15 October.

Joining the previously announced Jane Horrocks and Ayub Khan Din will be Amit Shah (Abdul Khan), Ashley Kumar (Tariq Khan), Darren Kuppan (Maneer Khan), Nathan Clarke (Saleem Khan), Taj Atwal (Meenah Khan), Michael Karim (Sajit Khan), Sally Bankes (Auntie Annie), Rani Moorthy (Mrs. Shah), Hassani Shapi (Mr Shah/Doctor), Ash Rizi, Karl Seth, Deepal Parmar and Pamela Bennett (Ensemble).

Horrocks will play Ella Khan, alongside playwright Khan Din who will also star as her husband George "Genghis" Khan in his semi-autobiographical take on British Asian life in the 1970s.

East is East follows Pakistani chip-shop owner George Khan who is determined to give his children a strict Muslim upbringing despite them living in 1970s Salford. As household tension begins to reach breaking point, their long-suffering English mother, Ella, gets caught in the cross fire. She finds her loyalties divided between her marriage and the free will of her children.

The production will be directed by Sam Yates and produced by Jamie Lloyd Production in conjunction with the Ambassadors Theatre Group.

It has also been announced that the production will be accompanied by a host of 'Traf Extras' events, which will aim to examine the diversity of the Great British Identity, with opportunities to join together and celebrate individuality, from specially-devised pieces to an open mic event.
