Gerardine Sacdalan to star in London return of 'Heathers the Musical'

Gerardine Sacdalan will star as Veronica Sawyer in the London return of Heathers the Musical, which begins performances at The Arts at Marble Arch powered by TodayTix on 9 July running through 22 August, ahead of a UK and Ireland tour.

Sacdalan previously starred as Juliet in the UK tour of & Juliet, as well as Made In Dagenham In Concert at the London Palladium.

She joins the previously announced Louis Hearsey as Jason ‘J.D’ Dean, Liberty Stottor as Heather Chandler, with Jessica Ibadin making her professional debut as Heather Duke and Lou Henry as Heather McNamara.

The cast is completed by Veronica Carabai as Ms. Fleming/Veronica’s Mom, Sophie Manners as Martha Dunnstock, Markus Södergren as Kurt Kelly, Beau Jackson as Ram Sweeney, John Gurdían as Ram's Dad/Big Bud Dean/Coach Ripper, Reuben Browne as Kurt's Dad/Veronica's Dad/Principal Gowan, with Christian De-Gallerie as Preppy Stud/Officer, Ellouise Delooze as New Wave Party Girl, Caitlin Garcia as Drama Club Drama Queen, Alexander Howarth as Hipster Dork, Charlotte O’Rourke as Midwestern Surfer Punk, Thomas Oxley as Beleaguered Geek, Tola Sokoya as Young Republicanette, and Carys Taylor as Stoner Chick.

Heathers will open new venue the Arts at Marble Arch: a 594 seat semi-permanent theatre, which is being used while the Arts Theatre undergoes a transformational upgrade.

Based on the 1989 cult film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, Heathers follows high school student Veronica Sawyer as she befriends three beautiful and impossibly cruel girls: the Heathers. As her popularity dreams come true, she is led down a dangerous path by heartthrob and rebellious newcomer J.D.

Heathers the Musical is directed by Andy Fickman, with choreography by Gary Lloyd, design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Dan Samson, and musical supervision by Jeremy Wootton and Will Joy.
