‘Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical’ announces final West End casting

David Albury takes over the role of Bob Marley from Michael Duke. ALbury previously starred in Motown the Musical and played Simba in The Lion King. Cleopatra Rey takes over the role of Rita Marley from Gabrielle Brooks.

The full cast features Shanay Holmes as Cindy Breakspeare, Sophia Mackay as Judy Mowatt, Melissa Brown-Taylor as Marcia Griffiths, Jacade Simpson as Bunny Wailer, Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton as Peter Tosh, and Ivano Turco as the alternate Bob Marley.

Andrè Antonio, Craig Blake, Charles Blyth, Tom Bowen, Luke Buck, Athena Collins, Viquichele Cross, Cartell Green-Brown, Llewellyn Jamal, Callum Jaye, Michael Jeremiah, Philip Kamau, Pharrell Marshall-Green, Jack Matthew, Newton Matthews, Kieran McGinn, Kristiano Palmer, Summer Priest, Lauran Rae, Kristiano Ricardo, Zack Richards, Julene Robinson, Nate Simpson, Amarra Smith and Jaime Tait complete the company.

Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical dramatises the life of Bob Marley, a Jamaican reggae superstar who went international with such as “No Woman No Cry," “Exodus” and “Redemption Song.”

Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical premiered at the Lyric Theatre in October 2021 and won an Olivier for Best Orchestrations. Clint Dyer directs Lee Hall's original story, and the show features design by Chloe Lamford, costume design by Lisa Duncan, lighting design by Charles Balfour, sound design by Tony Gayle, and choreography by Shelley Maxwell.
