'The Great Indaba' to have world premiere at the National Theatre

National Theatre Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham will direct Buffini's drama about the true story behind a meeting in South Africa that helped to build the 1998 Good Friday Agreement.

Moira Buffini's The Great Indaba will open in the National's Olivier Theatre in autumn 2027. The show has been revealed as part of the venue's 2027 season announcement.

National Theatre Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham will direct Buffini's drama, which is about the true story behind a meeting in South Africa that helped to build the 1998 Good Friday Agreement.

Rubasingham will direct The Jungle Book at the National Theatre this winter, with the show beginning performances on 13 November.

Further artistic team, casting, and performance dates are to be announced.
