Producers of the Olivier Award-nominated revival of Guys and Dolls have confirmed that the show will end its run at the Phoenix Theatre four months early, closing on 21 August 2016. The show had previously been booking to 7 January 2017.

Australian performer Rebel Wilson has recently joined the production, to excellent reviews, and the closure now coincides with the end of her limited season in the role of Miss Adelaide.

In a statement today, producers of the revival said: "Having enjoyed rave reviews in the UK, the critically acclaimed Chichester Festival Theatre production of Guys and Dolls will play its final performance in the West End on Sunday August 21, prior to embarking on an international tour. We are incredibly proud of Guys and Dolls and the way it has delighted audiences at Chichester Festival Theatre, in the West End (Savoy and Phoenix), and at numerous major UK venues."

They also stated that the show would look forward to taking in an international audience as it opens in Israel in September 2016.

The production originally opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre and transferred to the West End's Savoy Theatre in December 2015. It began performances at the Phoenix Theatre on 19 March 2016. Rebel Wilson currently stars alongside Simon Lipkin as Nathan Detroit, Oliver Tompsett as Sky Masterson, Siubhan Harrison as Sarah Brown, and Gavin Spokes as Nicely Nicely Johnson.

The show is based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon, with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. Gordon Greenberg directs, with choreography by Carlos Acosta and Andrew Wright, set design by Peter McKintosh, lighting by Tim Mitchell and sound by Paul Groothuis. The musical director is Gareth Valentine.

No new production for the Phoenix Theatre has yet been announced. Gary Barlow and Tim Firth's musical The Girls is expected to open at the venue in early 2017.
