Initial casting announced for Be More Chill at The Other Palace

Ahead of the UK premiere of Be More Chill at The Other Palace next year, initial casting has been announced.

Be More Chill follows a New Jersey high schooler named Jeremy Heere as he swallows a supercomputer pill in order to fit in with his classmates, combining styles of 1950s science fiction with recent movies. The musical features a book by Joe Tracz and original music and lyrics by Joe Iconis, with songs including 'Michael in the Bathroom'.

Scott Folan will play Jeremy Heere, previously starring in Mother of Him at the Park Theatre and Damned by Despair at the National Theatre.

The cast of Be More Chill will also star Renee Lamb as Jenna Rolan, who is best known for playing Catherine of Aragon in the original production of Six at the Arts Theatre. Fellow Six star Millie O'Connell, who was nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance as Anne Boleyn, also joins the Be More Chill company as Chloe Valentine.

Blake Patrick Anderson will play Michael Mell, with theatre credits including Starlight Express and Closer to Heaven.

Further casting includes Miracle Chance as Christine Canigula, Stewart Clarke as The Squip, Eloise Davies as Brooke Lohst, James Hameed as Rich Goranski, Miles Paloma as Jake Dillinger, Christopher Fry as Mr Heere and Mr Reyes and Eve Norris in the company.

The full cast of Be More Chill is to be announced.

The creative team for Be More Chill features direction by Stephen Brackett, choreography by Chase Brock, set design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Bobby Frederick Tilley II, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau and sound design by Ryan Rumery.

Be More Chill is at The Other Palace from 12th February 2020.
