James Graham’s Quiz to transfer to the West End

James Graham's play Quiz is due to transfer to London's West End following its world premiere at Chichester Festival Theatre.

Graham's play is about the Charles Ingram scandal of 2001, where he conspired to cheat his way to the top prize of the ITV game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

Quiz will run at the Noel Coward Theatre from 31^st March to 16^th June, with an official opening night on 10^th April.

The production is directed by Chichester Festival Theatre's artistic director Daniel Evans, and it marks the second West End transfer for the theatre following Half a Sixpence. Evans' directing credits include Flowers for Mrs Harris and Show Boat in the West End, and he was previously the artistic director of Sheffield Theatres.

James Graham currently has two plays running in the West End: Ink at the Duke of York's Theatre, and Labour of Love, also at the Noel Coward, which closes 2^nd December.

Commenting on the transfer of Quiz, Graham said: "Being given the chance to share Quiz with more people - and with the opportunity to develop and push our gameshow-meets-theatre concept even further - is beyond exciting for all of us."

Evans said: "James is an exceptional writer with a knack for examining our recent history through an alternative lens. We're thrilled to be able to revisit the production for the West End, and share Chichester's work with a wider audience."

The original Chichester production starred Gavin Spokes as Charles Ingram and Keir Charles as the show's host Chris Tarrant, though casting for the West End transfer is yet to be announced.

Quiz is at the Noel Coward Theatre from 31^st March to 16^th June.
