Jihad! The Musical at Jermyn Street 8 Jan - 6 Feb 2010

Seabright Productions presents Jihad! The Musical, at the Jermyn Street Theatre in Piccadilly, central London, from 8 Jan to 6 Feb 2010.

The show was created the show to satirise the stereotyping, fear-mongering, and media cynicism of the 'war on terror'.

It has Book by Zoe Samuel, Lyrics by Zoe Samuel and Benjamin Scheuer, Music by Benjamin Scheuer.

Directed by Gordon Greenberg, designed by Lucy Bradridge, lighting by Mike Robertson, choreography by Nick Winston, and Musical direction by Elliot Davis.

The cast includes Delroy Atkinson, Tara Carrozza, Richard David-Caine, Yannick Fernandes, Gina Murray, Sorab Wadia.

A satirical romp that follows an innocent young boy from the streets of Jalalabad to the West. Targeted by an American reporter looking to create her own TV-ready terrorist, he soon finds himself in the midst an actual sleeper cell run by a flamboyantly inept cast of characters. Of course, sparks fly and romance blooms. With singing camels, dancing girls and a heartfelt hero, JTM sends up ethnic stereotypes, politics and big business, and the love affair between terrorism and the media. The show features songs including Axis of Freedom, Building a Bomb Today, I Wanna Be Like Osama, Marvellous, Marvellous France and Scary Mary.
