King Lear by House on the Hill - Rose Theatre Bankside

House on the Hill presents King Lear, by William Shakespeare, adapted & directed by Grace Wessels, at the Rose Theatre (Bankside), in central London, from 1 to 31 March 2012.

This classic tale of deceit and tragedy, with inspiration from the 1920's era, complete with original jazz music score remains true to Shakespeare's timeless text.

The Kingdom of Lear is a place dominated by decadence, wealth, liquor and jazz. The aging Lear must divide his kingdom between his three daughters. When his youngest, Cordelia is unable to express her love for the King, things begin to spiral out of control.
