‘Kinky Boots’ to be streamed worldwide this weekend

The production was filmed at the Adelphi Theatre.

Kinky Boots is the latest musical to be streamed online, thanks to The Show Must Go On YouTube channel. The West End production will be able to watch this weekend, available from 18 December.

Based on the 2005 movie of the same name, Kinky Boots follows Charlie Price, a young man who has just inherited his family-owned shoe factory. With the help of drag queen Lola, the pair strike up an unlikely friendship, making knee-high boots.

Killian Donnelly stars as Charlie Price, who will return to the West End in 2021 in The Phantom of the Opera. Matt Henry plays Lola, who won his first Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical in the role. Natalie McQueen, Sean Needham, Cordelia Farnworth and Antony Reed also star in the filmed performance.

Following a Broadway premiere, Kinky Boots opened at the Adelphi Theatre on 15 Sept. 2015, where it ran to 12 Jan. 2019. The production was nominated for seven Olivier Awards, winning three including Best New Musical.
