LES MISERABLES SCHOOL EDITION
Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical Les Miserables, is launching a special school edition of the show. It has been specially adapted to meet the needs of young performers.
The production will receive its UK premiere on 14th Oct 02 as part of the International Festival of Musical Theatre in Cardiff, when it will be performed by Stanwell School at the 500-seat venue in the schools grounds. The school Edition will then be generally available for performance from 4th Nov 02. Any school can apply to stage this edition with the provisos that no performer can be older than 18 years old and that the performance must take place on school premises.
Cameron Mackintosh says of the School Edition, "The Future of the theatre is all about developing and nurturing a passion for musicals and plays among the young. This is where the new audiences will come from. And I believe "Les Miserables", which tells a story of so many committed, impassioned young people, should provide a thrilling theatrical learning experience for teenagers across the UK."
