Linzi Hateley rejoins cast of Mamma Mia! 14 Dec

Linzi Hateley rejoins the cast of Mamma Mia! as 'Donna' at the Prince of Wales Theatre on 14 Dec 2009. At the same time Jessie May will be playing her first major West End role as 'Sophie'.

Linzi Hateley has starred in many West End musicals including "Mary Poppins", "Chicago", "Grease", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "Les Misérables".

The show continues to feature Katy Secombe (Rosie), Jane Gurnett (Tanya), Norman Bowman (Sam Carmichael), Paul Ryan (Harry Bright), Christopher Hollis (Bill Austin), Oliver Hembrough (Sky), Jodie Read (Ali), Laura Selwood (Lisa), Ben Heathcote (Pepper) and Sam McKay (Eddie). At certain performances the role of 'Donna Sheridan' will be played byMelissa Jacques.

Based on the songs of ABBA, Mamma Mia! opened in London at the Prince Edward Theatre on 6th April 1999, following previews from 23rd March 1999. It transferred to the Prince of Wales theatre on 3 June 2004.

MAMMA MIA! has been seen by more than 40 million people in over 200 cities across North America, Australia, Europe and Asia. It has grossed over $2 billion at the box office worldwide. The original London production opened in 1999 and has grossed over £180 million at the UK Box Office.

A film adaptation of the stage show was released in 2008 titled "Mamma Mia! The Movie".

A story of a mother and daughter set on the eve of the daughter's wedding, the musical has music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and book by y Catherine Johnson.

It is designed by Mark Thompson, with lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce & Bobby Aitken and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.

It is choreographed by Anthony Van Laast and directed by Phyllida Lloyd.
