Lisa Maxwell cast in Chicken at Trafalgar Studios 2

Cast update for Chicken, by Mike Batistick, directed by Sam Neophytou, opening at the Trafalgar Studios 2 Theatre, 26 June 2012, following preview from 25 Jun - running to 21 Jul 2012.

Joining previously mentioned Craig Kelly (Wendall) and George Georgiou (Floyd), are Lisa Maxwell (Lina), Andy Lucas, Amy Tez, Daniel Yabut.

Set in the Bronx. Wendall and his pregnant wife’s stifling and cramped apartment is full of the mess of desperate people. Floyd is kipping down on the sofa, and a visit from his father, his brash ex wife and the local hustler, clearly shows what an unstable upbringing and a burning desire for money can do – but will the cock be their meal ticket?

Lisa Maxwell is best known as Inspector Samantha Nixon in the ITV1 drama The Bill between 2002 and 2009. She is also known for co-presenting ITV's daytime chat show, Loose Women. Lisa says: “The play is relevant today and being a London girl I grew up with the same sense of humour as these city characters. There is nothing polite about them, and at times CHICKEN is hilarious. This is my first serious role in the theatre so a lot of new challenges for me - and nowhere to hide in such an intimate space!”
