Marisha Wallace and David Hunter cast in Waitress in London

Further casting has been announced for the upcoming West End production of Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre, which opens in February 2019.

David Hunter, Marisha Wallace, Laura Baldwin and Peter Hannah will join the previously announced Katharine McPhee in Sara Bareilles' musical, which is about a waitress with a passion for pie-making, Jenna, who is stuck in an abusive relationship.

Fellow waitresses Dawn and Becky will be played by Laura Baldwin and Marisha Wallace respectively. Baldwin's previous theatre credits include Eugenius, Big Fish and The Little Beasts at The Other Palace. Wallace currently stars in the West End production of Dreamgirls playing Effie White, and has starred on Broadway in Something Rotten and Aladdin.

David Hunter will play Dr Pomatter, Jenna's gynaecologist. Hunter currently stars in the West End production of Kinky Boots, and his other West End credits include Once, One Man, Two Guvnors and Seussical.

Peter Hannah will play Earl, Jenna's unloving husband. His credits include The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart in Scotland and New York, The Greater Game at Southwark Playhouse, and Shakespeare in Love at the Noel Coward.

They all join McPhee, who is known as an American Idol finalist, and also starred in the NBC musical TV series Smash.

Bareilles' musical is based on the film by Adrienne Shelly, and opened in April 2016 receiving four Tony Award nominations, including best musical.

Waitress is at the Adelphi Theatre from 8th February.
