
Mazz Murray to star in Thin Lizzy musical 'Moonlight - The Philip Lynott Enigma'
The Mamma Mia! and Sunset Boulevard performer will play the mother of Thin Lizzy frontman Philip Lynott in this new musical about the international rock star and Irish music icon.
West End star Mazz Murray will perform in new rock musical Moonlight - The Philip Lynott Enigma, which will play at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith on 29 March.
The Mamma Mia! and Sunset Boulevard performer will play the mother of Thin Lizzy frontman Philip Lynott in this new musical about the international rock star and Irish music icon's formative years, struggles, legacy, and his lasting impact on musicians around the world.
Murray, who was in Mamma Mia! for more than a decade and played Killer Queen in We Will Rock You for nine years, will be joined in the cast by actor and singer Peter M. Smith (Who is Erin Carter?) as Philip Lynott, Padraic O’Loingsigh (The Plough and the Stars, House of Guinness) as Brendan Behan, Riley Clark (Vengeance) as Oscar Wilde, Luke Hayden (The Shadow of a Gunman) as “The Landlord”, and John Newcombe (The Government Inspector) as “The Journalist”, with original founding member, Thin Lizzy guitarist Eric Bell making a special guest appearance.
The musical has book and music by John Merrigan and Danielle Merrigan and is directed by Jason Figgis.
Murray is only scheduled to perform in the London show, ahead of a UK and Ireland tour.
