Former Great British Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc will join Patti LuPone and Rosalie Craig in Stephen Sondheim's Company, which opens later this year.

Giedroyc will play Sarah, the wife of Harry who, together, are one of the five married couples who are friends with the musical's central character, Bobbi - who will be portrayed as a woman for the first time, and played by Rosalie Craig. The previously announced Patti LuPone plays Joanne, another of Bobbi's married friends.

Company will play at the Gielgud Theatre from 26th September, and tickets are on sale now.

Giedroyc is no stranger to the London stage: later this year she will play Beatrice in a production of Much Ado About Nothing at the Rose Theatre Kingston, and she has also appeared in Luce at Southwark Playhouse and a short run of The Rocky Horror Show in 2015.

Company is directed by Marianne Elliot, whose work at the National Theatre includes War Horse and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. It will be produced by her new production company, Elliot Harper Productions, who made their West End debut in 2017 with Simon Stephens' Heisenberg at Wyndham's Theatre, and produced The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe in Leeds over Christmas.

Company is at the Gielgud Theatre from 26th September to 22nd December.

Company Tickets are available now.
