Midsummer by David Greig at Tricycle Theatre 29 Nov

The Traverse Theatre Company production of Midsummer [a play with songs], by David Greig and Gordon McIntyre, will open at the Tricycle Theatre, a fringe venue in Kilburn, north London, from 29 Nov 2010 to 29 Jan 2011

Directed by David Greig with design by Georgia McGuinness and lighting by Claire Elliot, Midsummer [a play with songs] was first produced at the Traverse in 2008, before playing at the Edinburgh Festival in 2009 and Soho Theatre in January 2010. This production arrives at the Tricycle following a run at the Traverse Theatre and an international tour.

Cora Bissett and Matthew Pidgeon will reprise their roles as Helena and Bob respectively.

It's Midsummer's weekend in Edinburgh. It's raining. Two thirtysomethings are sitting in a New Town bar waiting for something to turn up. He's a failing car salesman on the fringes of the city's underworld and she's a high powered divorce lawyer with a taste for other people's husbands. She's out of his league and he's not her type at all. They absolutely should not sleep together. Ever. Ever. Which is why they do.
