
New musical 'FlyBy' to have world premiere in London
The musical follows brilliant but unpredictable engineer Daniel and Emily, a documentary film maker with a complicated past.
New musical FlyBy will have its world premiere at Southwark Playhouse Borough on 3 April for a limited six-week-only run.
Originally developed in 2025 by the National Theatre, the musical is written by Theo Jamieson and directed/co-creatrd by Adam Lenson. The love story follows brilliant but unpredictable engineer Daniel and Emily, a documentary film maker with a complicated past. Shifting between past and present, the narrative uncovers how Daniel disappears into space.
The cast includes Poppy Gilbert (My Oxford Year, The Other Bennett Sister) as Emmily and Stuart Thompson (Spring Awakening, Radiant Boy) as Daniel, with Gina Beck (Wicked, Guys & Dolls) as Amy Greenwood, Rupert Young (Dear Evan Hansen, Bridgerton) as Jonathan Jay, and Simbi Akande (My Fair Lady, Hamilton) as Grace Adams.
The creative team also includes set designer Libby Todd and lighting designer Ben Jacobs.
