Nicholas McLean to join cast of Wicked as Boq

It has been announced that Nicholas McLean will join the cast of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre next year.

McLean will take over the role of Boq from 20th January 2020, with previous West End credits including The Book of Mormon, as well as starring in a national tour of Avenue Q as Gary Coleman.

Currently playing Boq in the West End, Idriss Kargbo will play his final performance on 9th November, with George Ure taking over the role of Boq for a limited engagement from 11th November to 18th January 2020.

The cast of Wicked currently stars Nikki Bentley as Elphaba and Helen Woolf as Glinda, Alistair Brammer as Fiyero, Kim Ismay as Madame Morrible, Andy Hockley as The Wizard, Simeon Truby as Doctor Dillamond and Carina Gillespie as Nessarose.

Wicked follows the lives of Elphaba and Glinda as they become unlikely friends at Shiz University, later facing life-changing decisions that see them become Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West. Wicked features original music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, with songs including 'One Short Day', 'Defying Gravity' and 'No Good Deed'.

Now in its 14th year at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, Wicked recently celebrated its 10th million visitor to the West End production.
