NOISES OFF TO CLOSE 20TH JULY 02

Michael Frayn's Noises Off , has posted closing notices at the Comedy Theatre. The last performance will be on 20th July 02 (The show was originally booking to 28th Sep 02).

This Royal National Theatre production, initiated by Sonia Friedman of Ambassador Theatre Group, originally opened at the Lyttleton Theatre in October 2000 to rave reviews and subsequently re-opened at the Piccadilly Theatre in May 2001. It then transferred to the Comedy Theatre in February this year .

It is now over twenty years since the show originally opened at the Savoy Theatre, where it ran for five years and won every major Best Comedy Award.

Directed by Jeremy Sams, Noises Off is a comic romp which offers two plays for the price of one. Whilst the traditional British Farce "Nothing On" is being performed, a real life farce is unfolding backstage during the show's final rehearsal and the ensuing disastrous tour. "Nothing On" and Noises Off interlock as the actors make their exits from one play only to find themselves making entrances into the other and back again. Amidst such confusion can they ever get to the end of the show?!
