Notes from New York presents The Last 5 Years & tick... tick... BOOM! at the Duchess Theatre

Notes from New York presents Jason Robert Brown's The Last 5 Years (6 to 10 May 2009) & Jonathan Larson's tick... tick... BOOM! (13 to 17 May 2009) at the Duchess Theatre.

The Last 5 Years is directed by Amelia Sears and features Julie Atherton (Cathy) & Paul Spicer (Jamie). 'Newly published novelist Jamie and aspiring actress Cathy tell the tale of their raw and impassioned relationship in opposite directions and from differing standpoints. Unique in structure yet familiar in its universally resounding themes, this celebrated two-hander reminds us it's possible to feel claustrophobically close to and yet worlds apart from the one you hold closest to your heart.'

tick... tick... BOOM! is directed by Hannah Chissick and features Julie Atherton, Paul Keating, Leon Lopez. An autobiographical look into Jonathan Larson's struggle to be heard and accepted as the musical voice of a new generation.. Tells the story of an aspiring composer named Jon, who lives in New York City in 1990. Jon is worried he has made the wrong career choice to be part of the performing arts.

Both musicals are produced by Jamie Hendry Productions and Neil Eckersley & Paul Spicer for Speckulation Entertainment, designed by Morgan Large, lighting by David Howe, sound by Gareth Owen & Ed Borgnis.
