PLAY Theatre Company return to The Vaults with The Subterranean Season

Following a sold out run at the Vault Festival in 2016, the award-winning PLAY Theatre Company will return to the Waterloo based venue with a new production, The Subterranean Season which runs from 25 to 29 January and 1 to 5 March 2017.

This production will see the return of PLAY's unique brand of theatre making which brings together the brightest and best emerging theatrical talents, to make work that is probing, poignant and, most importantly, playful. Each performance will last one hour and feature four short plays packed with variety.

The Subterranean Season brings together 36 actors, writers and directors to share a playroom together, writing devising and creating new work that will each premiere at the festival. Artists at this year's festival include Kate Kennedy, Miriam Battye and Aisha Zia, with directors including Holly Race-Roughan, Anthony Lau, Hannah Hauer-King and Matt Harrison. Performers include Emily Barber, Jessica Clarke, Patrick Osborne, Benjamin Wainwright, Emily Stott, Eleanor Hafner, Santino Smith, Leo Wan, Mariam Haque and Alex Griffin-Griffiths.

Since the company was founded in June 2015 they have worked with over 100 of the hottest actors, writers and directors and produced 22 brand new PLAYs which have been performed across London and through-out the UK, at venues such as The Old Red Lion, The Pleasance Theatre, Hackney Showroom, Live at Zedel and Paines Plough's Roundabout.

PLAY company were winners of the People's Choice Award at Vault Festival 2016.
