Raza Jaffrey - Billy Flynn in Chicago from 16 May - 14 July

Raza Jaffrey to play 'Billy Flynn' in Chicago The Musical, at the Garrick Theatre, from 16 May - 14 July 2012, playing the role between present Billy, David Bedella, who leaves the cast on 12 May, and Robin Cousins, who joins on 17 July.

Raza Jaffrey can be seen playing the role of Dev Sundaram in Smash, which began on Sky Atlantic this Saturday 21 April. His other TV roles include Zaf Younis in Spooks and Hari Dhillon in Mistresses. Recent films include Sex and the City 2, Harry Brown and Eastern Promises. Raza's West End stage credits include Sky in Mamma Mia!, Akaash in the original production of Bombay Dreams.

Chicago The musical opened at Adelphi Theatre 18 Nov 1997 to 22 April 2006; re-opened at the Cambridge Theatre 28 April 2006 to 27 Aug 2011; and re-opened at Garrick Theatre on 7 Nov 2011.

Chicago is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, has a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. This production has choreography by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse and is directed by Walter Bobbie.

This musical exploration of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery and treachery -- all those things that we hold dear to our hearts. Chicago follows not your usual housewife, Roxie Hart, who gains dubious notoriety when she kills her boyfriend, invents her defense and manipulates everyone from her trustworthy husband to the fickle media and the unsuspecting public. Featuring well known songs, 'All That Jazz,' 'Razzle Dazzle' and 'Mr. Cellophane'.
