‘Remembering the Oscars’ stream by Strictly stars Aljaž and Janette
In-person performances are now postponed to 2022.
With the national tour of Remembering the Oscars postponed to 2022, an online version of the dance show has been announced. Strictly Come Dancing professionals and real life husband and wife duo Aljaž Škorjanec and Janette Manrara will star in the show, available to stream from 27 March - 3 May.
"We feel awful having to postpone our Remembering the Oscars tour for a second time due to the pandemic, but we are delighted to have been given the opportunity to film some of the highlights from the show" said Aljaž and Janette. They continued to say: "We were devastated that another year would go by without sharing what we truly believe is our best show to date. Hopefully this will give our audience and fans a taster of what is to come next year."
Celebrating the Golden Age of Hollywood, there will be over 25 songs from musical films including Mary Poppins, An American In Paris and The Lion King. Recent movies will also be nodded to, including La La Land and Frozen.
All virtual audience members will be able to enjoy a 32-page programme with Remembering the Oscars photos, as well as Oscars trivia. This comes a year ahead of in-person performances, with Remembering the Oscars now postponed at the Peacock Theatre to 2 - 7 May 2022.
Later this year, Aljaž Škorjanec will star in the West End premiere of Here Come The Boys, with performances at the London Palladium. Read here for more information.
