'Ride the Cyclone' to return to Southwark Playhouse
The musical follows six teenagers who find themselves suspended in limbo after a freak roller-coaster accident and are offered a final chance of life.
Ride the Cyclone will return to Southwark Playhouse Elephant in London, running from 19 June to 22 August, following its UK premiere in 2025.
The musical, written by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, follows six teenagers who find themselves suspended in limbo after a freak roller-coaster accident and are offered a final chance of life.
In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, our critic said: "Much to my amazement, I came away after 90 minutes with a lump in my throat, which pays credit and then some to this musical’s ability to pivot from the strange, even sinister, through to something very sweet."
The musical is directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee, with musical direction and supervision by Ben McQuigg, set and costume design by Ryan Dawson Laight, lighting design by Tim Deiling, video design by Nina Dunn for PixelLux, sound design by Tom Marshall, and illusion design by Richard Pinner.
Producers Kevin McCollum, Morris Berchard and Jack Maple said of the show’s return: “We couldn’t be more excited to bring Ride The Cyclone back for another ride. We were delighted that we sold out our initial run, and are thrilled to be returning to Southwark in 2026 to give those who missed out on tickets the first time around a chance to Ride The Cyclone."
Casting is to be announced.
