- The *Robin Hood* legend dates back to the late 14th-century. The words “Robyn hod in scherewod stod” (Robin Hood in Sherwood stood) originate from Alfred Noyes’s “A Song of Sherwood” poem. “Rhymes of Robin Hood” also feature in William Langland’s poem, “Piers Plowman.”
- Disney adapted *Robin Hood* in 1973, anthropomorphising the titular outlaw as a red fox. Robin’s merry men became a brown bear, a rooster, and a badger.

The Open Air Theatre has been a permanent feature in London’s Regent’s Park since 1932. The outdoor theatre is leased by The Royal Parks to The New Shakespeare Company Ltd which is a registered charity and a not-for-profit company. The season mainly takes place between May to September.
