RSC'S "OTHELLO" TRANSFERS TO LONDON 26 MAY

The Royal Shakespeare company's production of Othello, will transfer from Stratford-Upon-Avon to the new Trafalgar Studios ( 350-seat theatre space) at the Whitehall Theatre from 26 May 2004, starring Antony Sher .

Directed by Gregory Doran, William Shakespeare's Othello will open on 3 June 2004, following previews from 26 May and booking to 3 July 2004.

The cast includes Antony Sher (Iago), Lisa Dillon, Charles Abomeli, Barry Aird, Nathalie Armin, JUstin Avoth, Ken Bones, Peter Bramhill, Vincent Brimble, Edward Clayton, Jonathan Duff, Viss Elliot, Amanda Harris, Mark Lockyer, Sello Maake Ka Ncube, Paul O'Mahony, Clifford Rose.

It is designed by Stephen Brimson Lewis, lighting by Tim Mitchell and sound by Martin Slavin.

Passed over for promotion within the Venetian army, Iago's twisted yet ingenious plot sets in motion a chain of events that will destroy the lives of his general, Othello, Othello's faithful wife Desdemona and ultimately himself in this tale of political and sexual jealousy.
