Gare St Lazare Ireland presents First Love by Samuel Beckett at the Arcola Theatre in Dalston, east London from 20 November to 13 December, with an official opening on 21 November 2014.

Performed by Conor Lovett and directed by Judy Hegarty Lovett, the company has toured to over 80 cities worldwide, and this marks their first Beckett performance in London since 'Lessness' at the National Theatre in 2002.

A characteristic blend of tragedy and comedy, the play was written in 1948 but only published in 1971. Conor Lovett - who has performed in 18 roles by Beckett - plays the narrator who can't forget his expulsion from the family home and how he arrived at a park bench, and became infatuated with the woman he met there.
