Sandra Marvin to join the cast of Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre

It has been announced that Sandra Marvin will join the cast of Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre later this month, taking over the role of Becky.

Marisha Wallace will play her final performance in Waitress on 10th October, with Marvin assuming the role of Becky from 17th October. 

Marvin’s West End credits include Stepping Out at the Vaudeville Theatre and Showboat at the New London Theatre (now named Gillian Lynne Theatre). Further musical theatre credits include City of Angels at the Donmar Warehouse, Mama Morton in Chicago and Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray. She has also starred in the television soap opera Emmerdale as Jessie Dingle.

Marvin joins the cast of Waitress including fellow waitresses Lucie Jones as Jenna and Laura Baldwin as Dawn, Davin Hunter as Dr. Pomatter, Joe Sugg as Ogie, Tamlyn Henderson as Earl, Andrew Boyer as Old Joe, Kelly Agbowu, Piers Bate, Cindy Belliot, Michael Hamway, Peter Hannah, Stephen Leask, Chris McGuigan, Olivia Moore, Nathaniel Morrison, Sarah O’Connor, Leanne Pinder, Charlotte Riby, and Mark Willshire.

Waitress follows the life of Jenna Hunterson, a down-on-her-luck pregnant waitress with a talent for baking as she enters a pie-making competition to start a new life with her child. The musical features an original soundtrack by Sara Bareilles with songs including ‘She Used To Be Mine’ and ‘You Matter To Me’.

After opening at the Adelphi Theatre in March 2019, it was announced last month that Waitress will play for an extended booking period to 28th March 2020.
