Shakespeare rock musical featuring Bon Jovi and Bonnie Tyler songs to open in London

A new Shakespeare-themed rock musical featuring music from Bon Jovi, Bonnie Tyler and No Doubt will open at the Arts Theatre this summer.

Created by Jennifer Marsden and directed by Racky Plews, Knights of the Rose will take from the literature of Marlowe, Shakespeare and Chaucer to tell the story of a group of knights who return to their kingdom victorious, but are faced with a threat far graver than they could imagine.

It will run at the Arts Theatre from 29th June to 26th August, with tickets on sale now.

Casting is yet to be announced for the musical, but the song list, which features five tracks from Bon Jovi, is as follows:

"Addicted To Love" - Robert Palmer
"Hard Times Of Old England" - Steeleye Span
"Wherever You Will Go" - The Calling
"He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother" - The Hollies
"Pilgrim" - Uriah Heep

Knights of the Rose is at the Arts Theatre from 29th June to 26th August.
