Sheila Hancock and Toby Jones recognised in 2021 New Year’s Honours
This year's recipients will be awarded at some point this year.
The full line-up of recipients in the 2021 New Year's Honours list has been announced. An annual tradition since 1890, the New Year's Honours celebrates those who have made outstanding contributions in their fields, with different levels of awards given out each year.
We've listed some of this year's recipients below, as well as their notable credits.
Sheila Hancock: Making her West End debut in 1958, Sheila Hancock has been made a Dame for services to Drama and to Charity. Hancock's theatre credits include Annie, Sweeney Todd, Cabaret, Sister Act and recently the UK premiere of Grey Gardens.
Lesley Manville: Manville has been awarded a CBE for services to Drama and to Charity. Her recent London credits include The Visit at the National Theatre and Long Day's Journey into Night at the Wyndham's Theatre.
William Dudley: Having worked on the stage design for shows including The Woman in White and numerous shows at the National Theatre, Dudley was appointed an OBE for services to stage design.
Toby Jones: Recently starring in Uncle Vanya at the Harold Pinter Theatre, Jones was appointed an OBE for services to drama. He's also starred in The Birthday Party and The Play What I Wrote.
