Sleepless in Seattle musical to receive world premiere at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre

Following the previous postponement of Sleepless the Musical in 2017, the musical will receive its world premiere at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre next year. 

Newly renamed as Sleepless: A Musical Romance, tickets will go on sale on 10th December. 

The musical is based on the 1993 film Sleepless in Seattle, following a widower in Seattle named Sam and a journalist named Annie, who fall in love on opposite sides of the country. Sleepless: A Musical Romance features a book by Michael Burdette, with music and lyrics by Robert Scott and Brendan Cull.

Sleepless: A Musical Romance will begin previews at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre on 21st March ahead of an official opening night on 31st March 2020.

There will be three preview performances of Sleepless: A Musical Romance next month, with an evening performance on 13th December and matinee and evening performances on 14th December.

For the three December previews, the cast will star Michael D Xavier as Sam, whose West End credits include Sunset Boulevard, Showboat and The Pajama Game. Kimberley Walsh will star as Annie, recently starring in Big at the Dominion Theatre. The cast is completed by Soo Drouet as Becky, Gay Soper as Eleanor, Alex Fobbester as Rob, Dylan Turner as Walter, Vicki Davids as Suzy, Michael Carolan as Gregg, and Jobe Hart as Jonah, with Charlie Bull, Charlotte Gale, Matt Holland, Joanna Rennie, Tyler Smith and Annette Yeo.

Casting for the 2020 performances of Sleepless: A Musical Romance is to be announced.

The musical's creative team includes direction by Morgan Young, with set design by Morgan Large, costume design by Sue Simmerling, lighting design by Tim Lutkin and sound design by Avgoustos Psillas and Terry Jardine for Autograph.

Sleepless: A Musical Romance is at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre from 21st March.

Sleepless: A Musical Romance tickets are on sale from 10th December.
