The North Wall and Awake Projects will present Song of Riots by Lucy Maycock at the Battersea Arts Centre in south London from 13 to 17 October 2015.

The production uses text, music, movement, and the poetry of William Blake to tell a coming-of-age story of two boys. Drawing inspiration from the London riots of 2011 and the fairy tale Iron Hans, it asks questions about modern masculinity, exploring how boys cross the bridge from childhood to maturity, and what happens if they fail to make that journey.

The drama is directed by Christopher Sivertsen and Lucy Maycock.

Awake Projects is an international, multidisciplinary ensemble of artists based in Västerås, Sweden. The company place an emphasis on making work that unites music, text, physical theatre, and circus to create electrifying theatrical performance.

Tickets for the production are now on sale.
