Soul Sister concerning Ike and Tina Turner at Savoy

Soul Sister, a new musical concerning Ike and Tina Turner, opens at the Savoy Theatre 23 Aug 2012, following previews from 20 Aug - for a limited run to 29 Sep 2012.

Starring Emi Wokoma (Tina Turner).

The show, which recently had a run at the Hackney Empire Theatre, in east London, is devised by Pete Brooks and John Miller. Directed by Pete Brooks and Bob Eaton, designed by Laura Hopkins, lighting by Nick Richings, choreography by Jason Pennycooke. Musical staging by Jason Pennycooke. Produced in the West End by Bill Kenwright and John Miller.

The musical follows the highs and lows, the passions and heartbreak of Ike and Tina Turner as their careers blossomed and their marriage crumbled. Features songs including 'What's Love Got to Do with It', 'Proud Mary', 'Private Dancer' and 'River Deep Mountain High'.
