Special guest actors to appear in The Vagina Monologues after Sharon & Aimee Osbourne quit the show

Special guest actors will appear in The Vagina Monologues at the Wyndham's Theatre, after Sharon & Aimee Osbourne quit the show.

Joining Jenny Eclair and Diane Parish are the following..

Tues 5 - Sat 9 April: Rula Lenska (Credits: Rock Follies, Eastenders)
Tues 12 - Sat 16 April: Lucy Speed (Credits: Natalie Evans in Eastenders)
Tues 19 - Sat 23 April: Alison Newman (Credits: Chairwoman Hazel in Footballers Wives)

The producers also announced that Christine Hamilton and Heather Small, lead singer of M People, will be joining the cast during the last two weeks of the production.

Sharon & Aimee Osbourne quit the show just days before the first performance on 5 April 2005! This following Naomie Harris also quitting the show because of filming requirements

The Osbournes's pulled out of the show because eldest daughter Aimee, 21, has an undisclosed illness.

"The producers of The Vagina Monologues, Mark Goucher and Sally Greene, were shocked to discover a press release had been issued on Friday night(1 April) saying that Sharon and Aimee Osbourne were withdrawing from the show. Communication was finally made late on Monday afternoon from Sharon Osbourne¹s management to officially inform the producers of this development. The producers are now seeking legal advice. We can now confirm that Sharon and Aimee will not be performing in this production."

The Vagina Monologues is based on interviews with a diverse group of women - from a Long Island antique dealer to a Bosnian refugee - the play brazenly explores the humour, power, pain, wisdom, outrage, mystery and excitement hidden in vaginas.

The show is running to 14 May 2005
