Tamlyn Henderson to take over as Earl in Waitress the Musical

Actor Tamlyn Henderson is set to take over the role of Earl in the West End musical Waitress from 9th September, it has been announced.

Original West End cast member Peter Hannah will play his final performance at the Adelphi Theatre in the role on 7th September, before being replaced by Henderson, who has previously appeared in the UK touring production of Mamma Mia, as well as Australian productions of The Sound of Music and Les Miserables.

It has also been announced that Cindy Belliott will join the ensemble in place of Nicole Raquel Dennis’s final show on 7th September.

Henderson and Belliott will both join the cast on 9th September along with YouTuber and Strictly Come Dancing finalist Joe Sugg, who will take on the role of Ogie from Blake Harrison on the same day.

They join the cast led by Lucie Jones alongside Lara Baldwin, Marisha Wallace, David Hunter and Andrew Boyer.

Sara Bareilles’ musical is based on the 2007 Adrienne Shelly film about a small-town diner worker called Jenna who finds herself caught between her abusive husband and her gynaecologist lover.

Waitress is at the Adelphi Theatre until 4th January 2020.
