The Lyons by Nicky Silver - Menier Chocolate Factory

The Lyons a dark comedy by Nicky Silver, has its European premiere at Menier Chocolate Factory, an Off West End venue in south London,from 19 Sep to 16 Nov 2013. (Public booking opens 31 July)

The Lyons first ran off-Broadway in 2011 and then transferred to Broadway in 2012. The play was nominated for the Drama League Award for Distinguished Production of a Play and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Broadway Play.

It is directed by Mark Brokaw, who directed The Lyons both off- and on Broadway. It is designed by Jonathan Fensom, with lighting design by Jason Taylor and sound design by Gregory Clarke. Casting is expected be announced on 31 July.

The Lyons have gathered around the hospital bed of their dying father Ben. But surface compassion soon gives way to bickering, sniping and betraying each other's secrets.
