Trevor Bannister has died of a heart attack at the age of 76

Actor, Trevor Bannister has died of a heart attack at the age of 76.

It is reported that the actor suffered a heart attack on Thursday at his allotment in Thames Ditton, Surrey.

Trevor Bannister was best known for his role 'Mr Lucas' in the 1970s BBC sitcom "Are You Being Served?".

He also worked on the west end stage including "Funny Money" at the Playhouse in 1995/96 and "The Odd Couple" at the Haymarket in 1996.

Recently, he starred in the long-running BBC series "Last of the Summer Wine."
