Vanessa Redgrave cast in The Inheritance at the Young Vic

Casting has been announced for Matthew Lopez's two-part play The Inheritance, which gets its world premiere at the Young Vic in March.

Vanessa Redgrave will take on the role of Margaret in the play, which is set in present day New York, a generation after the height of the AIDS crisis.

The play will star Andrew Burnap (The Legend of Georgia McBride, Geffen Playhouse) as Toby, John Benjamin Hickey (The Good Wife) as Henry, Samuel H. Levine (Elementary) as Adam/Leo and Kyle Soller as Eric.  

The cast, directed by Stephen Daldry, also includes Hugo Bolton (Texas Tax Man, Vault Festival), Robert Boulter (Revolt. She said. Revolt again., RSC), Hubert Burton (The Deep Blue Sea, National Theatre), Syrus Lower (Saint Joan, Donmar Warehouse), Michael Marcus (Two Gentlemen of Verona, Royal Shakespeare Company), Luke Thallon (Albion, Almeida) and Michael Walters (Death of a Salesman, Royal & Derngate).

The production runs at the Young Vic from 2nd March to 19th May with an official opening on 28th March.

The Inheritance has designs by Bob Crowley, lighting by Jon Clark, sound by Paul Arditti and Chris Reid.

It has also been announced that the production has added extra performances, as it will now run until the 19th May, rather than the original closing date of 5th May.

The Inheritance is at the Young Vic from 2nd March to 19th May.
