Vinette Robinson, Luke Treadaway join 'Othello' West End cast
The pair join David Harewood, Toby Jones, and Caitlin FitzGerald in the Shakespeare production at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, directed by Tom Morris.
Vinette Robinson and Olivier Award winner Luke Treadaway have joined the cast of Othello in the West End, running at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 23 October to 17 January 2026. Opening night is 4 November.
Robinson will make her West End debut as Emilia, and Treadaway (The Curious Incident of The Dog In The Night-Time) will play Cassio. They join the previously announced David Harewood as Othello, Toby Jones as Iago and Caitlin FitzGerald as Desdemona. Further casting has yet to be set.
Vinette Robinson said in a statement: "I’m absolutely delighted to be making my West End debut in this new production of Shakespeare’s Othello, and I am very much looking forward to exploring the play with this incredible cast and wonderful creative team."
Luke Treadaway said in a statement: "I am beyond excited to be starting rehearsals for Othello — a play I’ve never seen before but one that is so ingrained in our theatrical culture. It will fascinating to be a part of it and I can’t wait to get started in September."
Shakespeare's tragedy centers on the titular Othello, a respected military leader, and the cruel scheming of his ensign, Iago, to ruin his marriage, career, and life. Tony Award winner Tom Morris (War Horse) directs the production, which features music by PJ Harvey.
The creative team also includes Ti Green (design), Jon Nicholls (sound design and additional music), Richard Howell (lighting design), Dominic Skinner (make-up design), Suzanne Scotcher (hair and wigs design), and Laila Diallo (movement director).
