West End Bares announces theme for this year's performance

The theme for this year's West End Bares has been announced as Ruby Strippers.

The annual event was founded by award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell eight years ago following the success of the New York edition, Broadway Bares. The even raises money for The Make a Difference Trust, to fund projects that raise awareness of HIV and AIDS, and provide support and care in the UK and Africa.

David Grewcock will direct the event which will feature choreography from Racky Plews (American Idiot), Ashley Nottingham (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Will Lucas (Cats), Joanna Goodwin, Aaron Renfree, Simone Mistry-Palmer, Jaye Elster, Ashley Jordan-Packer, Fletcher Dobinson), Chris Whittaker and James Wilson.

The evening will also feature actress Rebecca Trehearn (Showboat), who will perform a track written for the occasion by Mark Anderson (The Book Of Mormon) and Luke di Somma (That Bloody Woman).

Last year's performance (hosted by Graham Norton) was attended by celebrities including Judi Dench, Michelle Visage, Samantha Bond and John Barrowman.

West End Bares: Ruby Strippers will take place at the Novello Theatre on 29th October.
